One Of The Best Tropical Beach Locations Is The Sandy Beach Resort Tonga Islands

]]>

It is situated on Foa Island, Ha’apai Group, and can be reached from the international airport on Tongatapu in 35 minutes followed by a ten minute car ride.

That in actual point of fact is the theory, but it doesn’t always work that way, but the owner meets you at the airport, so if you are even several hours later than expected, don’t worry.

Life at Sandy Beach Resort has its own timetable, and things do happen slowly in the South Pacific, but we didn’t go there for 21st century facilities.

We wanted an escape from the cocoon that 5* hotels have become, increasingly the same, no matter where in the world you have travelled to. What you will find at the Sandy Beach Resort is no pollution, no blaring radios, TV, or for that matter people!!

Boris and his father will look after you very well indeed, and the food in the restaurant is good if a little repetitive, in that it is mainly seafood based, although it suited us fine. You need to remember that there isn’t much agriculture on Tonga, and corned beef appears to be a staple!!

Life here is different, things don’t turn up, like aeroplanes, supplies, so just chill!!

The beach, which is almost on the doorstep of your fale, [chalet, bure ] are whatever you want to call it, is quite the most beautiful beach we have ever seen anywhere. It is very private here, indeed you could walk a few yards and never see another soul.

The water is the kind of turquoise colour you can only dream about, and you can snorkel almost off the beach, and see beautiful fish. Neither of us scuba dive, but I gather that was pretty good if you did.

This a real south pacific vacation. You do get one of the best white beaches, in fact one of the worlds best beaches, what you don’t get is an international hotel and five star service, but who wants it anyway.

Nanuya Resort Yasawa Island Fiji Is An Elegant Small Beach Hotel

]]>

Nanuya Resort Yasawa Island Fiji is situated on the Blue Lagoon, and we stayed there just after a week at the Octopus resort.

We thought Nanuva was one of the most elegant small beach hotels we have stayed in as far as the South Pacific is concerned.
What really impressed us during our stay was the small touches, such as the plug in insect repellents in the room, especially as we had left ours at home!!
Another thing we love are nice toiletries in our room, and we were not disappointed at Nanuya, as the bures were modern, well equipped with ensuite facilities, towels, in fact all you would expect from a good resort. This of course included towels for the beach, and free water, which you can get from the bar.

The resort had everything needed for a great vacation, starting with the open air restaurant, serving superb food, and big platefuls. Fiji is not noted for its cuisine, but the food at Nanuya is delicious, with a simple continental breakfast to start the day. The breakfast is included, and then the menu for lunch is always the same, but the food is so good, you’ll have no difficulty finding something you like every day. The dinner menu changes daily, and there is a good selection of starters and main courses for you to look forward to.

If you want to see photographs of the Nanuya Resort then go to http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com/articles/127/1/Nanuya-Resort-Yasawa-Island-Fiji–is-an-Elegant-Small-Beach-Hotel/Page1.html

The biggest drawback was the invasion of backpacking daytrippers, who arrived on the beach, took the sunbeds, used the internet, and generally turned one of the best elegant small beach hotels that is Nanuya into a rugby scrum. Fortunately this only happened once, and we were mercifully free from too many daytrippers.

The beach as you would expect is quite out of this world, everything a South pacific beach should be, with wonderful blue/turquoise/green shades, and it was possible to swim out a little way for some quite good snorkelling.

Nanuya Resort is very well staffed, by cheerful smiling helpful people, who were never too obtrusive.

We’d definitely visit again, but next time we’d use Turtle airways and fly, turning a four and a half hour transfer into 30 minutes, so well worth the money!!
Nanuya Resort gave us one of the best tropical beach vacations possible

The award-winning, five-star Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort is one of the most renowned vacation destinations in the South Pacific. Located on the island of Vanua Levu on 17 acres of a coconut plantation, the accommodations overlook the peaceful waters of Savusavu Bay. The acclaimed resort is an international favorite for romance, honeymoons and weddings; scuba diving; and families, who want to combine heavenly surroundings and exceptional dining with an unsurpassed range of eco-friendly activities.

Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands resort is the only resort that employs a full-time marine biologist to help visitors appreciate the underwater world of Fiji.

The Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands Resort is an island resort, which means there are no televisions, phones, wireless internet access, etc.

If you need these things to have a great vacation then choose another resort.

On the other hand if you are happy in the company of friends and the wonderful people of Fiji, then this is the place for you.

The layout and the accommodation at the resort were both upscale and luxurious, much better than the photographs led us to believe.

We stayed in a garden bure, which was 30ft behind the Beach-front bure. The bure was large and breezy with an overhead fan. If you need air conditioning then you are in the wrong resort!! You will find a number of bug repellents in the bure, and you will need them for there is a mosquito problem.

The bathroom was quite spacious and well supplied with thick towels. There was a mini-bar and all sorts of drinks that were replenished daily. There were also a coffee and tea makers with different varieties of tea.

I’d opt for a Garden Bure, if only because there isn’t much of a beach at the beachfront, and it is a lot windier.

If you’re into beaches then go somewhere else.

The beach is poor, in fact all you will find are rock pools and mangroves, and significantly the small beach there is did not have any sunbathers on it. It is more of a sandy strip full of shells that leads into a coral tide area. This tide pools are great for studying local wild life. The best entry into the water is from the pier.

The staff were some of the best I’ve encountered and everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

The food was exquisite and gourmet with lots of fresh fish, probably best described as light island fare.

One could order a second helping of anything.

Everyday brought a new menu both at lunch and dinner.

There is a good wine list, but the wines by the glass were not so good.

There was a wide choice at breakfast.

There are two major shortfalls here, apart from the lack of beach in a Pacific Ocean Island paradise!!

The facilities for small children are superb, with the all encompassing Bula Club, however if your children are slightly older but not old enough to scuba dive, there are all sorts of rules and regulations for them to keep them out of adult vision and hearing.

The Children’s food was somewhat of the fast food variety, and I found it intolerable that children could not use the adult salt water pool at certain times.

In addition the scuba diving was not all it might have been.

Finally – beware falling coconuts, you will be asked to sign a waiver clause in case you get hit!!

An Aitutaki Honeymoon At The Pacific Resort Aitutaki

Edit Article |

An Aitutaki Honeymoon, is the best of Cook Island Honeymoon destinations. The Pacific Resort Aitutaki is one of the few luxury small hotels on Aitutaki, and is absolutely ideal spot for a Cook Island Aitutaki honeymoon. Aitutaki is the most beautiful part of the Cook Islands, and is a remote paradise, almost untouched by the 21st century.

The Pacific Resort Aitutaki is a fairly typical Polynesian hideaway with beach front bungalows, suites, villas, and a restaurant where you will eat top class Polynesian cuisine. This means fresh seafood caught daily and fruit from the garden at the hotel.

There are a number of things to do, and sunbathing and snorkelling in crystal clear warm water over the reef right by the hotel comes top of the list. The reef is inhabited by thousands of brightly coloured fish. This is a great place to relax in luxury and isolation after the pressures of a wedding.

The Pacific Resort Aitutaki is over 250 kms north of Rarotonga, and you can get there in 40 minutes by plane, and is the only full-service luxury resort in the Cook Islands. It is on an island atoll, and lies in one of the world’s largest lagoons. This is paradise, a secret hideaway, which is why an Aitutaki honeymoon can’t be beaten.

When you arrive at Aitutaki on your Cook Island honeymoon you’ll be met and given a flower necklace, driven the short distance to the hotel, and greeted in person by the manager.

Choose a beachfront suite, which is in a self contained thatched unit.

They are a very good size, airconditioned, furnished in dark wood, with one wall a sliding window opening onto a veranda, then you are a few steps to the powder white sand beach next to a sea that is an unbelievable blue/turquoise/green colour.

There is a large comfortable bed, TV, DVD player, and stereo system.

A huge bathroom contains a large shower, and his and hers basins, and a door leading to an outside shower as well.

The Pacific resort is very clean, well maintained, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Meals are taken in the restaurant which overlooks the small pool, mind you who needs a pool when you have a beach to end all beaches outside!! The views of the lagoon, and the reef are almost beyond description, sufficient to say they more than justify choosing an Aitutaki honeymoon!!

The sheer isolation of the Pacific resort means that food is very dependent on local produce, which really means chicken, goat, and fish. The chef does introduce as much variety as possible, but you don’t come to such a beautifully isolated and unspoilt part of the world for the food. It’s worth eating out and the reception staff are always willing and able to help.

Aitutataki is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The Pacific Resort is a fantastic Aitutaki Honeymoon choice. This is by South Pacific standards probably the top small luxury hotel.

There are lots of destinations in the South Pacific that have properties which advertise romance, ambience, atmosphere and the term hideaway, which would indicate that they would be ideal for a special occasion. However, on reaching their destination and having assumed that the description was correct, many couples are utterly disappointed at what they find. Especially when looking for the fulfillment of the terms used above, only to see in their accommodation choice, that there is a half used candle sitting in the middle of the table, and a rocky beachfront which is not ideal for an evening stroll, no sunsets to sit and watch, or sunrises to see coming up. This leaves them feeling completely shortchanged by their “romantic” honeymoon resort.

Some of the most beautiful places to stay in the South Pacific are located in Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. Rarotonga has many truly romantic properties, but it is important that research is done correctly. This means delving into the internet and using appropriate keywords to find the right destination. The terms, romance, Rarotonga, Cook Islands, luxury, accommodation, exclusive, villa and private, are all good terms to search under.

When you find a range of choices in the destination area you are searching under, then it pays to look further into each property and see just what is offered to ensure peace of mind in that it lives up to what it says and if it is in fact a romantic honeymoon resort. There are many ways to test this, by firstly asking what inclusions are provided in the rates that only apply to honeymooners and then asking if the property offers things like :
– Champagne or bubbly on arrival
– Honeymoon cakes
– Massages for two
– Added bonus tour inclusions
– Sunset on the beach dinner hamper for two
– Candlelit villa or room on arrival complete with petals or chocolates on the bed at night
Things such as this will indicate that special thought has been given to what is really a very special occasion.

Many properties also have “honeymoon packages” which are tailored to suit these special occasions. These can include the couples massages, or any of the other added bonus inclusions mentioned above and do represent a good choice for a romantic honeymoon resort Rarotonga. Often because these inclusions are absorbed into the rates of the property, they do represent great buying and an opportunity to enjoy this special holiday at a very substantially discounted rate.

It has become very popular now to advertise locations and destinations for special occasion holidays. More and more resorts, boutique villa properties and accommodation places in general are getting into the special occasion holiday setting and giving more and more thought to value added inclusions in their rates. Especially is this the case in the South Pacific including Rarotonga where the name alone conjours up the feeling of romance – tropical palms swaying in the breeze, beautiful sunsets at night and stunning sunrises to enjoy together etc.

Hopefully the above points are helpful in the decisions that are made when choosing a romantic honeymoon resort or boutique luxury villa accommodation property in Rarotonga Cook Islands.

World First in Exotic Destinations ? South Pacific Island Resort Offered in Raffled

Right now people are looking for exotic and different destinations, on shoe string budgets.

Everything in the known world is crashing around their ears, with the stock market in the biggest bear market, for a very long time, with the ‘r’ word floating around. No-one can afford to be rash in their investments or spending. Every cent spent must count, as extra cash is in short supply.

There is however, one exotic destination that has something very special and still in everyone’s reach. It has some of the last untouched wilderness areas in the world. People still live in custom villages, the way their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. A place where you can breathe the fresh air and see the brightest stars in the tropical night sky. That place is Vanuatu, in the South Pacific.

The charity, YouMe Support Foundation in partnership with winaresort.com is raffling a boutique resort in the capital of the island nation, Port Vila, only three hours by plane from Sydney, Australia.

Funds from the raffle provide non-repayable education grants for geographically and financially underprivileged children. A return airfare and one week’s accommodation is included in the 1st prize.

Later this year someone will become the proud new owner of Seachange Lodge. With it goes a tax-free income. Retirement waiting on a South Pacific island.

The raffle will assist children who cannot help themselves. “Unless we get outside help, our students will never have a chance to go to high school,” Mr Harris Apos, the Banks Area Secretary in Vanuatu said. “They will never have the opportunity to live their dreams of being a school teacher, doctor, mechanic, carpenter, or nurse. They simply have to stay in the village on the remote island.”

The Prime Minister Mr Lini, admitted, “The government does little to assist these people,” when he visited the area recently. “Sometimes all that is needed is only $US500 to bring a classroom into use.”

One exercise book is shared between several pupils and pencils broken into three pieces to give them something to write with. Qualified teachers are in the minority and often it is the recently graduated primary students who assist the younger ones. Many parents cannot read or write.

In 2006, the nation of Vanuatu, made famous by A Michener’s ‘Tales of the South Pacific’, (and the film ‘South Pacific’) was voted the Happiest Country on Earth, by the British New Economics Foundation’s (NEF), Happy Planet Index.

“The Index was based on life expectancy and environmental footprint, to rank the countries”, according to Adrienne Wilson, writing for Gadling.com on July 15th 2006.

Yet the local schools are without resources of any kind. Most of the children will never leave their villages.

“We really appreciate our guests, who since 2004 have helped us to send desperately needed school supplies to these isolated areas,” said Richard Tendys, the current owner of Seachange Lodge. “For those of us who use the benefits of the 21st century without a thought, it is good to invest in some children who hardly know the technology, that can help them, even exists.”

Vanuatu has never become commercialized like some of its South Pacific neighbours and so has maintained it own unique blend as an exotic travel destination.

YouMe Support Foundation (http://youmesupport.org), in partnership with http://winaresort.com raises funds to provide non-repayable education grants for geographically and financially underprivileged children. Their current project is to raffle the boutique resort Seachange Lodge, (http://seachangelodge.com ) in Vanuatu.

You can contact the author Dr Wendy Stenberg-Tendys on [email protected] , or Phone (678) 26551, Pacific Standard Time.

Nukubati Island Resort Labasa The Most Romantic Hotel In The South Pacific

I had a week on Nukubati Island Resort Labasa, as part of my honeymoon and I thought it was absolutely amazing. Whilst being greeted by hotel staff on the beach is quite commonplace in the South Pacific, this was something else.

Their voices are so harmonious, and apart from our welcome song, there were ice cool flannels, and welcoming drinks, and boy did we need them!! We had read reports which included quotes like “Most romantic hotel in the South Pacific.” And we very quickly realised why.

It is important to be aware that this is an all inclusive resort, and we were looking for all inclusive adult only hotels for our South Pacific Honeymoon.

This is the perfect escape with no phones, no television just serious relaxation.

Jetlag can spoil the first few days of a vacation especially when you are close to the international dateline, and having to conform to meal times isn’t what you want to do. We need not have worried, because we discovered after sleeping in almost all day after arriving, that you can pretty well eat when you want to. We were brought champagne and canapés, and then we had a wonderful seafood meal, and tons of fresh vegetables which we discovered were literally from the back garden!!

We could have eaten in our honeymoon bure all the time, but the dining room was a real treat with tablecloths, candlelight, fresh flowers, looking out onto the beach, and views you can’t really do justice to here.

If you want to see photographs then go to http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com/articles/128/1/Nukubati-Island-Resort-Labasa-the-Most-Romantic-Hotel-in-the-South-Pacific/Page1.html

Fiji and the Pacific islands in general are so lush, and not without reason. It is because of the amount of rain, but it is such warm rain, and it hits you so hard it is totally exhilarating to be out in. I’d never realised before now how much fun swimming in the rain can be!!

Above all it was the superb service, and the attention to detail that we loved. The little things we observed like the mosquito repellent burner at your dinner table, the water tray at the door of the bure, so you don’t bring sand in. The boat bringing you in, takes you to the beach outside your bure, and there would have been a towel on your seat on the boat to stop you from burning yourself.

We attended Sunday church in the local village, and the singing and the harmony was so moving it made me cry.

We also were taken out for a sandbank picnic, which was epic, not only for the picnic, but also the snorkelling afterwards. These little sandbanks only appear for a few hours, but we were taken there, and the staff set up umbrellas, table, chairs, champagne, and a three course delicious lunch, then they picked us up before the sandbank reappeared.

Nukubati is without a doubt the most romantic place I have ever visited. I felt so far away from every care, in fact from the world. I felt we were seeing the traditional Fiji. I know we came looking for an all inclusive adult only hotel for our South Pacific Honeymoon, and what we found was the most romantic hotel in the South Pacific

The Most Romantic Hotel In The South Pacific Has To Be The Wadigi Island Resort In Fiji

The most romantic hotel in the South Pacific has to be the Wadigi Island Resort in Fiji. If we were to make a list of the most romantic getaways we have enjoyed then the two most romantic vacations have both been in Fiji, but the Wadigi Island Resort was quite exceptional.

When my husband and I planned our wedding we decided to look for the most romantic affordable honeymoon ideas, but the more we looked at the Wadigi Island Resort, the more we knew, that never mind the cost it just looked the most romantic hotel never mind in the South pacific, but almost anywhere!!

Everyone wants an exotic honeymoon vacation, and Julian and I were lucky enough to be able to afford the Wadigi Island Resort, but having said that we only discovered it from a business acquaintance who thought it would be a great idea to tell us of his most romantic honeymoon ideas in the South pacific.

So think about this, Wadigi Island is hidden in the Mamanuca Islands, but it is just a 10 minute helicopter flight from Nadi Airport.

It is a tiny resort with only three deluxe suites, right on the edge of a cliff, with just the most incredible views.

We had two gourmet chefs, a hostess, maid, and the boat captain who appeared to be completely at our beck and call, so it won’t be a surprise to learn that the food was just gourmet, and the surroundings private and pristine.

To return to the food for a moment, when you are on your honeymoon, you want the best of the best, and when it comes to the food, then that is what you get, all totally personalized, fresh, quite beautifully presented, and you can pretty well choose where you want it served to you. I haven’t mentioned the drinks service either, our hostess prepared what we wanted when we wanted it, and the wines we were served at dinner, or lunch, were the best.

Cici Charlton found http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com by accident, uses it to discover interesting destinations not found in many holiday brochures, and now is a contributor
