The American rocking singer/songwriter Toby Keith and company honored another Outlaw legend by sliding into Willie Nelson’s nocturnal standard “Night Life”, then geared up for some get-down on a gutbucket-funk edition of “Harper Valley PTA.” As they worked the crowd up into a roiling, R&B frenzy, it began to seem like a door had opened into an alternating world where the legendary icon Keith was the leader of the greatest bar band in the world and he seemed to echo the idea. “How about that for one rehearsal?” he shouted after the song’s explosive ending. Oklahoma rocking music star Toby Keith, who lost almost all of his touring equipment in the recent Tennessee floods, has signed up to perform at Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s Nashville Rising concert, which will help raise funds for victims of the storm. The country couple will stage the benefit concert Tuesday at the Bridgestone Arena. The rocking star Keith joins a line-up of stunning artists that includes fellow Oklahoma stars Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Brooks & Dunn (which includes former Tulsan Ronnie Dunn), along with Billy Ray Cyrus, ZZ Top, LeAnn Rimes, Amy Grant, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Martina McBride, Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus. The profits from the concert will benefit flood relief efforts. Country music star Toby Keith will celebrate Independence Day with the Boston Pops. On Wednesday Liberty Mutual, the event’s sponsor, announced that Toby Keith will join conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops for the annual Fourth of July concert and fireworks show on the banks of the Charles River. The 40-year old singer-songwriter’s hits include “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” “You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This,” and “Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue.” Keith’s latest album, “American Ride,” was released last year by Show Dog Nashville. Toby Keith has last appeared on the First Coast a year ago when his America’s Toughest Tour stopped at nearly sold-out Veterans Memorial Arena. ‘Trailerhood’ is the first single from country music superstar Keith’s upcoming album of the same name. The new record will follow the 2009 album ‘American Ride’ and is expected to be released sometime this fall.
