Almost two-thirds of the 112,422 inhabitants of the Kingdom of Tonga live on its main island, Tongatapu. Although an increasing number of Tongans have moved into the only urban and commercial centre, Nuku?alofa, where European and indigenous cultural and living patterns have blended, village life and kinship ties continue to be important throughout the country. Everyday life is heavily influenced by Polynesian traditions and especially by the Christian faith; for example, all commerce and entertainment activities cease from midnight Saturday until midnight Sunday, and the constitution declares the Sabbath to be sacred, forever. The majority of Tongans are Methodists with a significant Catholic minority. By their own church statistics, Mormons claim 32 percent of the population, thereby substantiating their claim that Tonga is the most Mormon nation in the world.
Tongans, Polynesian by ethnicity with a very small mixture of Melanesian, represent more than 98% of the inhabitants.

New Brighton is a coastal suburb of Christchurch, New Zealand, to the east of the city centre.
It was originally a distinct coastal village, separated from the then outer suburbs of Christchurch by the swampy areas adjoining the Avon River. However, urban expansion, land reclamation and drainage have led to Brighton being swallowed by Christchurch City. It is named after New Brighton in England. The Avon River flows through Christchurch to New Brighton and the sea. There’s a bike path along the Avon all the way to New Brighton. The surf beach stretches 18 km from the Waimakariri River mouth in the north, to the Spit in the south.

The pier off Marine Parade, New Brighton, stretches for more than 300 metres / 985 feet into the water, replacing the city’s previous wooden pier. Christchurch Pier is one of the city’s coastal landmarks. The Council library is at the pier.

Times Square is a major intersection in Manhattan, a borough of New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. The Times Square area consists of the blocks between Sixth and Eighth Avenues from east to west, and West 40th and West 53rd Streets from south to north, making up the western part of the commercial area of Midtown Manhattan.

Formerly named Longacre Square, Times Square was renamed after the Times Building (now One Times Square) in April 1904. Times Square, sometimes known as the "Crossroads of the World," has achieved the status of an iconic world landmark and has become a symbol of New York City. Times Square is principally defined by its spectaculars, animated, digital advertisements.

The intersection of Broadway and 42nd Street, at the south-east corner of Times Square, is the Eastern Terminus of the Lincoln Highway, the first road across the United States of America.

Ce que j’aime dans cette photo, ce n’est pas spécialement le cadre, mais c’est la technique de la longue pose. Je trouve que cela te permet de sortir du cadre "j’attrape l’instant t". La longue pose est un autre regard sur le temps qui passe, elle permet de te montrer l’origine des choses vers un point d’arrêt qui est le présent, elle te montre le chemin parcouru par des objets. C’est ça qui est fort intéressant dans la longue pose, c’est qu’elle nous dégage de tout les faits préétablies en enregistrant le mouvement…
