GOOD COMPANIONSHIP [Islamic View]

Good companionship, choosing and having good companions is extremely important for many reasons and from many aspects. 1. Mankind cannot live alone; every individual must live and interact with others. 2. Those people who you sit with and make your friends are inevitably going to fall into one of two categories. Either they are going to be good individuals – who guide and encourage you towards what is good and help you to accomplish that which Allaah has ordered, or they are going to be bad –

Man And Woman Dynamics – A Simple Guide To Understanding The Opposite Sex

Without the awareness that we’re supposed to be different, men and women are at odds with one another. We commonly get angry or disappointed with the opposite sex, as we have blocked this crucial reality. We expect the opposite sex to be more like ourselves. We want them to “want what we want” and “believe the way we believe”. We erroneously assume that if our mates love us they’llrespond and behave in particular ways—the ways we respond and act when we love somebody.

Cruise Vacations: Alluring Destinations Around the World

There has never been a better time to hit the high seas for a cruise vacation. An estimated 18.4 million passengers will be cruising the world’s waters in 2010 in search of a remarkable vacation.

According to Cruise Market Watch, the worldwide cruise capacity is up almost 7 percent in 2010, as cruise lines add new ships to boost their lines. And with the additional space, some cruise lines are offering value pricing so the new space and the existing spaces are booked.

There are plenty of short-range cruises available for a quick getaway:

A three-night cruise to the Bahamas for just 9. You’ll see Miami, Fla., Nassau and Norwegian Private Island.

Or maybe you would like a five-night cruise to the Western Caribbean, starting in Miami and traveling to Ocho Rios and the Grand Cayman – all for 9 per adult passenger.

Or for 9 per adult passenger, go the other direction toward the Eastern Caribbean for a seven-night cruise to Miami, Samana, St. Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay.

Or, if you want to start on the West Coast, consider a seven-day cruise from Los Angeles, Calif., to Mexico. For 9 per adult passenger, you can enjoy stops in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas and then back to Los Angeles.

These cruises offer just a taste of the quick-trips available from U.S. ports of call. There are plenty of other ventures on both sides of the coast to experience. But with cruising so hot this year, this may be the time to try a trip that’s a bit more alluring – someplace off the Caribbean track.

How about a seven-night cruise to Australia and New Zealand for just 9 per adult passenger. You start in Sydney, Australia, and will continue on to Noumea and Isle of Pines, both islands making up New Caledonia.

Starting for around ,000 per person, you can take a 12-day cruise to Latin America and see sites you’ve only heard about in an atlas. The trip starts in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and includes Montevideo, Urugyay; Falkland Islands; a sail by Cape Horn, a stop in Ushuaia, Argentina; a cruising tour of Romanche & Alemania glaciers and the Cockburn & Beagle Channels; a stop in Punta Arenas; passage through the Strait of Magellan; a cruise through the Amalia Glacier Canal and passage through the Darwin Channel Chilean Fjords. The trip concludes in Santiago, Chile.

Want to go the Far East? How about a five-night cruise of Asia, starting at ,045 a person. You will start in Hong Kong, China; travel on to Sanya, China; and then head onto Hue and Hanoi, Vietnam; before ending back up in Hong Kong.

Got dreams of seeing the South Pacific? Consider the ,595 10-day South Pacific cruise. It will take you to places most people only read about: Tahiti, Rangiroa and Bora Bora – all in French Polynesian.

Ever dreamed of seeing the Grecian Isles? What better way than on a seven-night European-Mediterranean cruise for just 9 a person. The adventure starts in Venice and onto Bari, Italy. From there, the ship sails on to the Greek isles of Katakolon, Santorini, Mykonos and Rhodes. Last stop is Dubrovnik, a hugely popular tourist city on the Adriatic Sea.

Want to get off the high seas? Consider a 9 per person, four-day cruise of the Avalon Waterways. You will start your river cruise in Vienna and follow on to Melk-Dürnstein in Austria; Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia; and finish the tour in Budapest, Hungary.

For a trip you’ll never forget, spend 10 days exploring Egypt and the treasures of the Nile. Start by spending three days in Cairo, exploring the Kingdom of the Pharaohs, King Tutankhamen’s treasures, the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids of Giza. From there, you will fly to Aswan where you will embark on a four-night cruise of the Nile River where you can experience temples dedicated to crocodiles and falcon gods and the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens where 62 royal tombs have been unearthed, leaving many untouched. Conclude your adventure with a visit to Karnak, ancient Egypt’s greatest city. You will wind up back in Cairo in time to take in an evening of modern entertainment or rest up for the flight home the next day. The cost for all this is ,211 per passenger.

Now that you have an idea of the tame and the more adventurous offerings, you need to take these into consideration when selecting your cruise:

Is it an all-adult trip, or will you have to worry about little children? Older children will enjoy some of the historical sites more than their younger counterparts.

Does vacation time allow for a 12-day cruise? Or might a four-night quick getaway suffice for this year’s getaway?

Is one of these trips on you bucket list? If so, start there. The others will have to wait.

Cruise Vacations Destination for Seniors

]]>

If you’ve been dreaming of traveling abroad and experiencing some of the most beautiful and exotic destinations in the world, there’s no better choice than taking a relaxing cruise. In stark contrast to the endless lines of crabby travelers, crowded airport terminals or long hours behind the wheel that other vacation options feature, cruises let you sit back with a tropical drink in your hand as you travel effortlessly to your destination.

If you’re worried that cruising is better suited to younger travelers, think again. Although many cruise lines have recently touted family packages in order to expand business, seniors still make up a very sizable chunk of each ship’s roster of passengers. One of the most relaxing yet stimulating ways to see the world, cruises only require their guests to be young at heart.

If you’ve never been on a cruise before, a world of relaxation, fun and remarkable landscapes awaits you. Take a few moments to learn the basics of what you can expect on your future cruise and consider a few popular destinations worth looking into.

Accommodations

The first thing you’ll need to consider when finally booking your cruise is accommodations. The accommodation fee is your pass for boarding the ship and includes your quarters as well as most basic amenities, including meals. Rooms aboard cruise ships vary greatly and can match any traveler’s needs or budget.

The most lavish and spacious cabins on cruise ships are located near the top deck and on a side. They always offer large windows and sometimes even feature private balconies where you can relax and take in a Caribbean sunset or two along the way. Of course, these rooms are also the most expensive, but their cost is well worth the privacy and space you’ll enjoy.

More outgoing or budget minded travelers may opt for a more reasonable rate, which will be more in line with smaller rooms on a lower deck. The most affordable cabins aboard most ships will be located near the center and close to or below the water line, which means no windows. These rooms, however are usually the most stable and can be a great value for travelers who plan to use their rooms only for sleeping.

Activities on the Ship

Cruise ships are something like floating resort towns. As cruise lines continue to add bigger and more luxurious ships to their fleets year after year, your options for excitement, entertainment and unique experiences increase exponentially. Depending on the cruise you book, you can expect to find anything from a full sized ice skating rink to a rock climbing wall and more during your trip.

Cruise ships offer plenty of things to do for both busy bodies and travelers who would prefer to kick back and unwind. Party animals will find no good excuses to miss out on a whole daily schedule of mingling opportunities, Broadway style and quality shows, comedians, live bands, movies, casinos and more. For active guests, ships also feature fully outfitted gyms with daily classes, lots of pools and even water parks.

For the more relaxation fixated guests, top of the line spas offer soothing treatments for the body and mind while few things can beat lounging on deck with a cold drink. Couples will enjoy lots of opportunities to relax in privacy as well in several spas and hot tubs.

Activities on Shore and Destinations

Of course, the main purpose for taking a cruise is getting out and seeing the world. There are virtually as many destination possibilities offered by major cruise lines today, and your options are limited only by navigable ports. Here are a few cruise lovers’ favorites to get your ideas flowing.

Alaska

For nature lovers and adventure seekers, nothing beats the spectacular vistas and personal hands on experiences of an Alaskan cruise. In addition to taking in the amazing sights of North America’s wild western coast from the comfort of your ship, you’ll get to learn how to mush a team of sled dogs and trek across an active glacier on this trip.

The Caribbean

Perhaps the most well known of cruise destinations, the Caribbean islands offer near perfect weather, white sand beaches and warm, clear waters that are well known for their world class snorkeling and scuba diving.

Tahiti and the South Pacific

Regarded as a veritable paradise on earth, the South Pacific offers some of the most exotic landscapes and cultures you’re likely to encounter on a cruise. This amazing trip will let you experience the slow paced lifestyle of Tahiti while exploring tropical coves and secluded palm lined beaches.

Regardless of your age or disposition, cruising represents one of the most incredible, exciting and relaxing vacations available to travelers today. Take a few moments now to do some research on the cruise vacation of a lifetime.

Cruise Vacations vs. Ordinary Vacations

Cruise vacations are becoming more and more popular with each passing year. Years ago cruises were viewed as the ultimate luxury vacation, only enjoyed by the fabulously wealthy, or by cruise groups of senior citizens who had been saving for a cruise all of their lives. These days, quite the opposite is true. The cost of a seven day cruise vacation is comparable to a seven day vacation on to many other land destinations.

Botanical Hawaiian lotions bring the scent of a Hawaiian vacation into your home

]]>

If you have ever been to the Aloha State, among your most vivid memories are most likely the abundance of floral, tropical scents that permeate the air. In fact, neuroscientists say that scent is one of the most evocative of our senses; a whiff of perfume or roses can transport us back in time to a particular place and event (this was actually the basis of a humorous novel by Seattle author Tom Robbins back in the 1980s).

That may be as good a reason as any to use botanical lotion from Hawaii. Not only does Hawaiian lotion bring back those memories, it also confers many healthy benefits to the skin.

It Goes Way Back

Polynesian women have long been legendary for their physical beauty; more than one lovesick sailor lost his heart to an island girl over the centuries (you may perhaps remember the story of the HMS Bounty). Part of the reason is genetic, to be sure; however, a lot of the credit goes to their liberal use of botanical lotion.

Like the Ayurvedic medical traditions of India and Chinese medicine, healing traditions among Polynesian peoples were centered around treating the whole person, not simply a narrow range of physical symptoms. A Polynesian healer was often also a priest-shaman, and would be called on to treat spiritual and emotional ailments as well, which were believed to be the cause of physical disorders. Massage was a very common form of treatment; traditional botanical lotion made from locally-available plants was used as a lubricant.

Carrying On The Tradition

Modern manufacturers of hawaiian lotion use the same ingredients that have been used by Pacific Island peoples for centuries. Coconut oil – itself rich in health benefits – is often the basis of such lotions. To this coconut base is added the essence of native tropical fruits, such as mango, passion fruit and guava. Pineapple is also another ingredient often used in hawaiian lotion today, although it is not traditional; pineapple is native to South America and the Caribbean, and was not introduced to Hawaii until the early 19th Century.

But don’t let that stop you from exploring the rich variety of lotions from Hawaii and the South Pacific, which also use floral essences of jasmine, oleander and orchids. Not only will you enjoy healthier, more attractive skin, you’ll have another chance to visit those tropical islands through the sensual delight of smell.

Franklin Library

History

From its founding in 1973 until it closed permanently in 2000, the Franklin Library was one of the two largest publishers in the United States of leather bound books. Today, the high quality leather books produced by the Franklin Library are sought after by collectors. The books were arranged in several series consisting of 50-100 books each. Customers subscribed to a particular series and received one book per month, as long as their subscription remained current, until the entire series had been delivered. Thus, it could take over eight years to complete a 100 book set, such as The 100 Greatest Books Ever Written series.

Today, the books can only be acquired on the secondary market. The eBay community is one of the largest online auction sites in which collectors are able to purchase and sell Franklin Library books, both individually and in lots. Most titles are also easily obtainable on abebooks, Amazon, and similar sites, or from booksellers and bookshops specializing in antiquarian or collectible books.

Although most of the Franklin Library collections were issued in the full leather bindings (like to per book), some were also simultaneously issued in alternate binding materials such as “faux leather” — also called “leatherette” or imitation leather ( per book). Like the best-bound books, these particular better-bound books were printed on archival paper or acid-free paper to prevent yellowing or tanning. They were also gold gilted and decorated on the covers and the edges of the pages of the book were also gilt in gold to protect the paper from damage due to humidity. Other books were isued in quarter bound leather ( per book) — consisting of a “coated cloth” cover with a leather spine like the Franklin Mystery Series.

Some of their earlier, smaller collections were bound in ‘bonded leather’ (made of leather strips and scraps). This has given rise to a myth that Franklin books bound in other than leather are somehow inferior in publishing standards (such as Easton Press). While some Franklin books are, in fact, not covered in ‘real’ leather, they are still considered to hold high standards of publishing quality.

Of course, the vast majority of their finer collections were bound in the highest degree of publishing bindings like genuine leather, silk pictorial end-pages and silk ribbons attached for a bookmark (like Easton Press). As a cost-cutting measure, Franklin Library Press went into satin or marbled moir end sheets and satin ribbons in its Signed First Editions series.

In addition to the cost of the book, subscribers were expected to pay shipping & handling charges as well as sales taxes. As time went on, later subscribers were asked to pay higher prices.

First Editions

Many publishers in the publishing world, including the original publisher of a book, issued “Limited First Editions” of certain books, especially those of popular authors or books that were particularly important due to award nominations, movie deals, or critical acclaim. Consequently, they represent a different category of books as compared to the typical “trade” edition books.

These “Limited First Editions” were issued in limited numbers (about 100 to 1000 and sometimes even more) and they were issued with a particular designation to set them apart by giving them a special distinction such as a special binding, a slipcase, hand-numbering, a signature by the author, or any combination (or all) of the above. Many of these ‘special’ editions were simultaneously published with the “trade” editions or were done sometimes later.

Some small press publishers actually bought the pages from the original publisher and placed them in a special binding of their own design, had them signed by the author, and had them numbered.

Others, like Easton Press, do their own printing also, using special paper, and they release the “Limited First Edition” up to a year or more after the “trade” edition has been publishedomething that had made a claim of a true “First Edition” somewhat questionable.

In the case of the Franklin Library, it was their policy to contract for the printing rights of the “First Edition” with both the author and the mass-market publisher first, thus making the Franklin Library edition a “true-first-edition” that was published prior to the “trade” edition. This is something that added considerably to the value of their books. To emphasize this difference or distinction, the Franklin Library “trade” editions bore a statement of “First trade edtion” on the copyright page and had a disclaimer stating that “A signed first edition of this book has been privately printed by the Franklin Library Press.” Thus, this statement acknowledged that the “First Edition” issued by the Franklin Library Press was indeed the first printing of the book and truly and accurately described as a “first edition.”

A question often asked is: What is the difference between the “First Edition” and the “First Signed Edition”? The difference consists in the fact that a “first edition” contained a signed introduction that was printed along with the book, that is, a “print” of the signature but not a ‘real’ or authentic or personal signature done in ink by hand. The “First Signed Edition” series, something Franklin Library Press started doing in 1983, consisted of a hand-signed authentic and ‘real’ signature done by the author for that one particular book, usually done on a separate page that was then bound into the book. A separate and loosely placed tissue or onion-skin paper was placed over it to protect the printed pages.

The series

Due to overlapping series themes, the same title may appear in more than one series, but ordinarily with a differently designed binding. Many of the book collections issued by the Franklin Library were “open” or “trade” editions, therefore, no edition figures are available.

Here is a list of the individual series:

100 Greatest Books of all Time (leather, 1974-1982, .00; leatherette, 1973-1986, .00) First Edition Society (leather, 1976-1980) Pulitzer Prize Series (leather, 1975-1982) 100 Greatest Masterpieces of American Literature (leather, 1976-1984, .00) 60 Signed Limited Editions (leather, 1977-1982, .00) – (the most spectacular collection) Stories of the World’s Greatest Writers (leather, 1977-1985) 20th Century’s Greatest Books (leather, 1977-1982, .00) World’s Best-Loved Books (leather, 1977-1986, .00) Great Books of the Western World (leather, 1978-1985) – a great one to own! World’s Great Books Family Library (quarter-bound, 1979-1984) Heirloom Library of the World’s Greatest Books (quarter-bound, 1979-1983) Oxford Library of the World’s Great Books (quarter-bound, 1981-1985). Note: e-Bay member book fever has provided examples of at least some of this series proving that they were issued in full leather as well. Greatest Books of the World’s Greatest Writers (cloth, 1981-1985) Signed First Edition Society (leather, 1983-2000) Franklin Mystery Series (cloth and leather versions, 1986-1989 – offered in either leather or cloth; the leather versions didn’t sell well and they were discontinued. The leather editions version contained a different or separate list and didn’t follow the same sequence of the cloth editions. Metropolitan Museum of Art (cloth and leather versions, 1987) – a 12-volume set – each volume highlights the art of a different society and culture. Foreign Language Editions (early ’80s) – Franklin also issued great books collections in German (The German Masterworks I & II) and Japanese (The Japanese Heirloom Library), mostly leather-bound or quarter-bound, but with a few Sturdite editions as well (possibly just prototypes).

The 100 Greatest Books of All Time (1974-1982)

Considered to be one of the more popular collections, the titles shown below were bound in genuine leather with 22k gold accents between 1974 to 1982.

This series was also published in the same quality paper starting in 1973, pre-dating the leather bound series, but using the faux leather or leatherette bindings decorated in gold/silver with printed design papers for the end-pages and gold on the edges of the pages of the book but without the ribbon bookmark. Some book titles were substituted with others. Books with this type of binding were published beyond 1986.

The (Signed) First Edition Society

The Franklin Library published limited first editions of a large number of books. They were distributed to the members of its First Edition Society. Initially the books were unsigned and not numbered. Later the name was changed to the Signed First Editions Society, and the books issued to members were all signed by the authors, and in some cases were also numbered as to the limitation.

Hawaii all inclusive vacations: do they exist?:

Families employed to the all inclusive resorts of the Caribbean and Mexico want to regulate their pondering, within the Aloha state: the common “all inclusive” that supplies meals, drinks, snacks, watersports, youngsters’ packages, and far more — generally for $one hundred/night or considerably less– shouldn’t be a portion of the landscape here.

One can see the sense in this: believe about the value of wages in Hawaii, and the charge of transporting in meals and products.

Beneath are numerous tips for these looking for Hawaii all inclusive resorts:

* A luxury home that capabilities meals, young children club, numerous routines (– see particulars, beneath)

* a bundle that consists of some meals at a great-really worth resort that has totally free Hawaiian cultural actions

* a trip packager that bundles lodges, meals, transfers, pursuits

* several resorts that offer complimentary children’ applications

* “Loved ones Adventures” escorted tours

Kona Village- an in depth-to- all inclusive Hawaii resort:

At luxury resort Kona Village, on the Big Island’s Kohala Coast, firm maintain in hale (hah-lay) cottages spread about 82 acres, price consists of meals, and most pursuits are complimentary, so the tip result’s a in depth-to-all-inclusive value. Kona village has complimentary children programs for ages 6 to 12, and teenage routines. Family steps embrace bamboo pole fishing, hula lessons, lawn video clip games, and much more, on-home; also, complimentary guided outrigger canoeing and glass-backside boat rides.

“All Inclusive Hawaii Packages”:

Examine with care, whenever you see these phrases: frequently, they refer only to a offer deal that brings together airfare plus lodging. 1 net web site that does bundle a lot more is Hawaii-Aloha: “All-Inclusive Hawaii” packages embrace resorts, most meals, airport transfers, and excursions reminiscent of sailing outings. Likewise, AATPA has an All Inclusive Hawaii Model offer deal, on the Royal Lahaina Resort on Maui, with meals, resort actions, luau, bar credits.

Ka’anapali Seashore Hotel offers:

It is not typical, in Hawaii, to locate a resort that can worth-in meals, however a wonderful guess is the Ka’anapali Seashore Hotel, picked by FamilyFun Journal as a higher spot for households. This resort normally has deals that embody lodging, automotive rental, every single day buffet breakfast, 1 dinner, and some sightseeing. The Ka’anapali — wherever you may discover good worth, wonderful place, and a deep dedication to Hawaiian custom and values– has complimentary Hawaiian actions reminiscent of lei-creating, and nightly hula exhibits.

Resorts with complimentary children’ programs:

Inside of the usually non-all inclusive surroundings in Hawaii, any service provided free of charge is a bonus: as, for illustration, totally free routines at the Ka’anapali Seashore Lodge, above.

The substantial-finish Four Seasons Hualalai and 4 Seasons Maui at Wailea resorts also offer you no cost children applications for ages 5 to 12. (Various resorts could cost /day.) four Seasons Maui has some complimentary actions also: akin to placing inexperienced, snorkeling, croquet, DVD library, video games space.

“Household Adventures”:

A greatest suggestion for a (almost) all-inclusive Hawaii trip: Household Adventures are modest-group excursions with very best-of-the-very best itineraries; all particulars are handled, and organization just let the great events roll. Really worth typically consists of all steps and virtually all meals; anticipate to shell out 00 or more per specific human being (land-solely), with minor discounts for kids.

Family Adventures are at times supplied by adventure journey organizations, and many have Hawaii excursions: Backroads, for instance, has Hawaii journeys with biking, sea kayaking, volcano-hiking, snorkeling– see a lot more about Family members Journey corporations.

Elsewhere in the South Pacific:

Membership Med has terrific all inclusives for households, and had a resort in Bora Bora which sadly closed in 2009. Meanwhile, some household-pleasant Fiji Resorts do provide all inclusive offers (at time of writing.) If you recognize of an all inclusive resort inside the South Pacific, send the information along.

Backside line:

In case your heart’s set on a tropical all inclusive expertise, Mexico and the Caribbean islands have a great number of decisions in any respect budget amounts. Otherwise, regulate to what pretty Hawaii has to provide: a lot of households really like holidays at apartment rentals; or examine out some Hawaii Resorts on entirely various islands.
