One of the most beautiful sights that one can see on board a cruise ship is the break of dawn in the South Pacific Ocean. It is undoubtedly one of those wonderful experiences of ocean travel – being on a ship as she approaches a tropical island in the period just before dawn. The faint glimmer of light appearing on the distant horizon is the most peaceful sight. Then a tiny splinter of orange peeps out from under the sea and within in minutes a great golden orb thrusts itself out of the ocean and the skies are bathed in light.

It is almost like someone has just spoken the magic words “Let there be Light!”

In present times the opportunity of going on a Pacific cruise vacation is no more confined to the rich and famous who own personal ocean-going yachts. More and more people are unearthing that joys of an ocean holiday and are travelling to out of the ordinary destinations on a commercial cruise ship. Such holidays are now not excessively expensive. Many companies today present family-friendly holidays at affordable prices on board a luxury vessel sailing the seven seas. There is a plethora of cruise offers and cruise deals available these offering you an experience for a lifetime.

There are many facilities offered on such type of vacations. And the best part of such vacations is that one can more or less do one’s own thing on board while the ship sails from one destination to another. Cruise ships provide classes on everything from dancing to bridge to cookery. Passengers can see a new movie every day or take pleasure in a musical performance. They can dance or read a book in solace in the library during the day. They can even exercise in the gym or go for swimming; they can go out on deck to watch the nature in its full form.

Those who want to just take it laid-back can simply sit on deck with a book or a drink and watch the seas pass by. Most of these activities on board and all main meals (except alcoholic and soft drinks) are included in the fare. So plan a Pacific Cruise Ship Vacation and enjoy yourself.

And if you are prepared to get up while it is still dark and watch the deck light up, Pacific cruise vacation is waiting for you with open arms.

Explore the South Pacific in a Summer Study Abroad Program!

While classes in North America wind down over the summer, universities in Australia and New Zealand are in full swing. Students can take advantage of the seasonal differences to expand their education and explore the nations of the South Pacific by enrolling in a summer study abroad program.

Since the semester is already underway in the South Pacific during our ‘summer break’, students undertaking summer study in New Zealand and Australia participate in short-term programs that fit their schedule while discovering the remarkable landscapes, coastlines and rich cultures of their host nation.

Where are New Zealand and Australia Summer Study Abroad Programs Held?

Summer study programs are offered through many major universities throughout Australia and New Zealand. In fact, programs are offered by institutions in most major cities. Whether you prefer New Zealand or Australia, summer term options suitable for most fields of study are available.

Why Enroll in a Summer Study Abroad Program?

Studying abroad during the summer is an ideal opportunity to make the most of time between spring and fall semesters at home. Not only does a summer study abroad program allow students to continue their education, but it also provides a rare opportunity to explore the world.

When it comes to summer study australia and New Zealand offer students exceptional opportunities and academic programs. Because seasons in the South Pacific are opposite those of the Northern Hemisphere, the universities there are in full operation during this time. During a New Zealand or Australia summer term, students may choose any number of intriguing programs of study that may not be available at their home university during this time.

Since summer term programs offered at this time are of shorter duration, students can select a summer study abroad program that best fits their university’s schedule and their own course of study. Happily, there are any number of excellent New Zealand and Australia summer study programs available.

Applying for a Summer Study Abroad Program

The application process for these programs is similar to that used by most universities in North America. Applying for a summer study abroad program in the South Pacific typically involves completing an application form or forms. A copy of your official college transcripts will be required and typically a small fee is involved. References from faculty members of your home college or university are often required too. To ensure you have all the required materials on hand, fully research the requirements of any program in which you have interest.

Students find summer study abroad programs an experience rich in opportunities both academically and personally. Enrolling in a New Zealand or Australia summer term program makes the most of your time between full semesters and provides a once in a lifetime glimpse of your place in the world.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers Target Drug and Alcohol Abuse in the South Pacific

A Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour is targeting drug and alcohol abuse in Tonga, an island nation near Samoa in the South Pacific.

In an interview with Radio Tonga News on the island of Tongatapu, Mathew Andrews, the leader of the South Pacific team, explained that the tour concentrates on providing services to address the precise problems that exist in the countries they visit. With drug and alcohol abuse among Tonga’s youth a critical concern to officials, non-profit groups and individuals, the tour will be providing workshops to combat this substance abuse and addiction.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers will also offer seminars and courses in conflict resolution and natural disaster emergency preparedness—subjects that have proven popular throughout the South Pacific countries the tour has thus far visited.

Demand also runs high throughout the region for training in the study technology developed by Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard.  The tour recently held a training session for students and teachers in one of the colleges on Tongatapu.  “Thank you for this very important program,” wrote one teacher who completed this training.  He went on to state that the program enabled him to “solve problems of teaching and learning on the part of the students.”

Another teacher wrote, “I would suggest that all teachers who are so-called quality teachers should have this in mind where they are teaching. Many teachers tend to use corporal punishment,” he continued, “due to the lack of strategies or methods on the part of the teacher.”

The Goodwill Tour also provides workshops on how to improve communication skills, and training in Scientology Assists, a technology that addresses the mental and spiritual aspects of a person’s physical difficulties.

Having already provided similar guidance and training in Fiji and Samoa, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers South Pacific Goodwill Tours will be in Tonga for three months before continuing on to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Fiji Island Holiday conjures up all sorts of images in the mind, imagine sitting by the pool with the warm sun beating down on you while enjoying a fresh island cocktail that’s just been served to you. Well that is what a Fiji Island Holiday has to offer and plenty more.

Fiji Island Resorts range in price and capacity while new ones are being developed all the time to give you a taste of Fiji Real Estate. There are a number of great new back packer facilities ranging from all the inclusive meal and bed packages or others that have their own amenities and cooking facilities.

There is plenty to do if you don’t want to spend your time lounging around the pool. Fiji has wonderful diving or if you are not interested in Fiji Scuba Diving or going under with a tank on your back, there are plenty of terrific snorkelling in Fiji. You can discover the magical world under the sea, the beautiful coral reefs, and the brightly coloured tropical fish swimming around you. If you want to get up close and personal, you could try to feed the fish while snorkelling the fish seem to come from miles and surround you in an amazing oasis of Fiji colours.

You could stay on one of the many exotic beautiful Fiji Island Resorts or you could take a day trip to one and make the most of an Island Hopping boat trip. This is a great way to see different resorts and islands, maybe even finding a new place to stay on your next trip.

Fiji is also very popular with the yachting fraternity, it is a great spot to stop and spend some time exploring the Islands between New Zealand and Australia. The yachties are great fun and sure know how to party and have a fun time. One of the most popular Yachting destinations in Fiji is Musket Cove marina.

Many of the resorts also have other water sports available, windsurfing, hobby cat and water skiing to name a few. There are also a number of Fiji Island Resorts that focus around children, providing a kids club, so mum and dad can have a true break – drop the kids off in the morning and collect them again in the late afternoon to hear all about their days adventures, what they have made and learn about all there new friends. A very popular thing children love to do is to get their hair braided and you always see kids at the airport on the way home with their hair with colourful beads and braids.

Another popular activity is surfing. Fiji is well known for a couple of surf breaks and even has specific surfing resorts which host the international events which has drawn huge public attention.

You could also jump in a local cab and explore the mainland and townships. A must do is taking a trip to the local veg markets, such a great sight with all the veg stacked in neat piles selling for a dollar or two.

Maybe you have gone on Fiji Island Holiday to totally relax and wined down and catch up on some reading. If this is the case I am sure you will find yourself at a Fiji resort and Spa receiving a sensational Fiji Massage.

Some people find a cruise is more their thing and Fiji has a couple of companies that provide excellent services with small boats holding less people but giving you fantastic service that is more personal. You have the best of both worlds, getting to see plenty of Islands, snorkelling locations and relaxing at the same time, a great idea for your honeymoon. Plenty of people choose Fiji to tie the knot, having a barefoot beach side wedding.

The Fijian people are very talented musically and are a nation that loves to sing and play the guitar. The resorts often have a Meke which is a combination of music, singing and a Fijian tribal dance another must do during your stay.

Fiji is only a short flight from both Australia and New Zealand with regular flights available. You can also fly from the USA and other destinations and makes for a fantastic truly relaxing holiday. The people are magical with beautiful friendly smiles and always make you feel welcome with a cheerful ‘Bula’ on your arrival.

Fiji is a wonderful holiday destination so why not when you are planning your next trip include Fiji on the list as a must do vacation for a Fiji Island Holiday.

Discover the true beauty of a fiji island holiday and enjoy the soothing qualities only a fiji island resort can offer!

The Happiest Country on Earth, in the South Pacific, has a Special Role for Pigs in the Local Genera

In the United States, Hilary Clinton is the woman pioneer of the 21st Century. Ms Clinton has paved the way for women to enter the higher echelons of the political arena. Battle for Vice-President could well be fought in the female arena.
The female hand rocks the nation. Once again this may be proven to be true in the 21st Century political arena, where more and more women are mobilizing behind female candidates. In order to succeed in the polls, Obama should consider electing a female for the Vice-presidency, according to political writer Douglas Drenkow. This should lessen the impact should McCain choose to follow suit.

Undeterred by the rising trends of the 21st Century, lying to the South West Pacific is the secluded tropical island paradise of Vanuatu. One time voted in 2006 as the “Happiest Country on the Earth”. This small tropical island thrives on heavily male dominant society, whereby it is rare for a woman to achieve high ranking chiefly or political status.

In one traditional community found in a group of small islands known as Shepherds, it is acknowledged through the matrilineal hierarchy that by birth or matrimonial right a woman may be bestowed this prestigious status. It was therefore an unprecedented move, when the National Council of Chiefs acknowledged the late Grace Molisa, from the island of Ambae, as a personage of high status, both in the cultural and political arenas. Especially where on Ambae this is never heard of.

Following in her aunt’s footsteps, Jenny Ligo, also from Ambae, has become the second woman to have been bestowed with this high status by the Chairman of the Vanuatu National Council of Chiefs, Chief Paul Tahi. Previously CEO for the Vanuatu National Council of Women, Jenny was, bestowed this prestigious status after performing a grueling 11 pig clubbing ceremony to commemorate her marriage to her husband, Joe Ligo, in 2007.

A mirror image to the Hilary legacy, Ms Ligo does not only have the Ambae chiefs to back her, but has gained the support of the women of Ambae and other islands.

In 2006 Vanuatu was voted the “Happiest Country on Earth’. Vanuatu people with their deep cultural and traditional societies rely on three basic elements for healthy living. Romance, Adventure and the Security of Freedom of Choice.

The first two are easily achieved in this adventure travel paradise, yet there is uncertainty in the lives of today’s younger female population with regards to the Security of Freedom of Choice.

Free education is but a dream in Vanuatu, and the lack of government recognition by way of social welfare programs, means that the meager income generated is invested in the education of the boys.

The harsh reality then is a woman’s destiny lies in her own hands. Etched deep within is their rich cultural norms and value, yet a vast majority lack any formal qualifications.

Where many of the islanders live on under per day, young girls miss out on the opportunity to become educated. As peer pressure of the 21st Century escalates around them, young girls find themselves in a life scarring situation, as was the case of the 16 year old girl, who was attacked by two youths as she was walking home from work.

Under age employment is illegal under the Labor Laws of Vanuatu. Without proper education, most rural communities are ignorant of the legal ramifications.

There is a growing restlessness in the younger generation, who are demanding the right to an education. The right to become qualified leaders for their country.

In late 2007, the government admitted that it does not have the finances to provide free education. Statistics have changed little since 1999.

The horrendous consequences of this are:

• only 55.8% of Vanuatu kids will get to grade 6;

• of those only 18.2% will go to high school;

• 26% will never go to school at all.

YouMe Support Foundation is one of the few charities raising funds for these educationally challenged youths. Their Child Trust Fund provides non-repayable high school education grants to the children of the Outer Islands. Children who will never have the opportunity to see the inside of a high school classroom.

Through her courageous performance of the pig clubbing ceremony and the acquisition of a recognized prestigious status, Jenny Ligo has become the icon of HOPE in the lives of these far fetched communities.

You can find out more about these beautiful people and this fascinating Happiest Country on Earth at www.freeearningtip.com. You too can make a difference in their lives, through a Blue Moon Opportunity.

A small effort can pioneer great change in the lives of these young women, aDid you find this article useful?  For more useful tips and   hints, points to ponder and keep in mind, techniques, and insights pertaining to credit card, do please browse for more information at our websites.

Explore Exotic Ports Of Call In The North And South Pacific To Choose Your Cruise…

With all of the decisions that you have to make before taking a cruise, you may think that picking a cruise destination is the least of your worries. Four, seven, twenty-nine days on a luxurious cruise ship with nothing to do but while away the hours and absorb the scenery, who cares when and where you port? It’s all bound to be good, right?

Not necessarily. Many popular ports of call are visited by numerous cruise ships belonging to different cruise lines each and every day. These ports are often crowded and so touristy in nature that it is hard to enjoy or even discern the cultural allure that made these ports popular in the first place. For this reason, you should always research the ports of call offered in your cruise package as well as the ship that you book passage on.

Sapphire Princess: Ports of Call North And South Pacific

In this article we will look at just one of Princess Cruise Line’s ships, the Sapphire Princess, which visits numerous ports of call each year. In the summer months, she tours the waters of Alaska bypassing scenic glacier formations and during the rest of the year she can be found touring Mexico, Australia, and the South Pacific. Below is a brief review of two of the most popular cruises offered aboard the Sapphire Princess and just a few of her ports of call.

Hawaii, Tahiti, and the South Pacific

This amazing 29-day cruise begins in Sydney, Australia and takes a leisurely tour of the South Pacific making numerous stops before landing at Los Angeles nearly a full month later. The pricing for this cruise starts at ,499 for an inside stateroom but is well worth the cost. On day 17 of this cruise, passengers are able to enjoy a full day in Bora Bora, French Polynesia. On day 23, the ship ports at Honolulu, Hawaii.

Bora Bora

Bora Bora’s main attraction is its multi-colored crystal clear lagoon and the many water-based activities that it offers. Some of the most popular activities include shark feeding, snorkeling, and scuba diving. If you need to get away from the ocean for a little while and test your sea legs on dry ground, Bora Bora offers scenic tours to see WWII cannons and breathtaking views of the lagoon from the hills above.

In addition to these attractions, there are numerous fine restaurants and shops to be found in Bora Bora. Unfortunately, transportation is a bit complicated on the island with only one public bus. Bicycles are the recommended mode of transportation for tourists to this area.

Honolulu

Honolulu is the most popular destination in Hawaii and for good reason. No matter what you desire to do, Honolulu can deliver. Its premier beach, Waikiki, is reputedly one of the best beaches in the world. Aside from lounging on the beach, you can also enjoy scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and snorkeling. Land-based attractions include numerous golf courses, the Honolulu Botanical Gardens, the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, the Honolulu Zoo, and the Waikiki Aquarium.

If you’re a history buff, you might want to visit Pearl Harbor while you are in Honolulu. Here you will find the USS Arizona Memorial which is dedicated to those who gave their lives at Pearl Harbor during World War II.

Voyage of the Glaciers, Alaska

This seven-day cruise is quite a deal with pricing starting at 9 for an inside stateroom. Guests are treated to leisurely days filled with scenic glacier cruising as well as several stops as the ship travels from Whittier to Vancouver. On day three of this excursion, the cruise passes through Glacier Bay National Park. On day six, the Sapphire Princess makes port at Ketchikan, Alaska.

Glacier Bay National Park

Some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world can be seen from the rails of a cruise ship on a leisurely trek through the Glacier Bay National Park. For a full day, passengers aboard the Sapphire Princess’s Voyage of the Glacier Cruise can sit spellbound as awe-inspiring images of ice shelves and beautiful glaciers pass slowly by.

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve features 16 tidewater glaciers and 12 icebergs. Here you can also catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife that calls the glaciers home. Creatures that call this region home include bears, deer, mountain goats, whales, and numerous types of waterfowl.

Ketchikan

More than 800,000 cruise passengers make port at Ketchikan, Alaska each year. What they find is a mind-boggling array of activities that makes this back-woods, sparsely-populated wilderness one of the most adventurous ports of call in the world.

While many activities in Ketchikan require more time than an average cruise port will allow, there are several activities that can be done during a short stay. Some of these activities include exploring the historic downtown area; visiting Saxman Totem Park, Totem Bight State Historical Park, or the Totem Heritage Center and Tribal Fish Hatchery to look at totem poles; going hiking in the Tongass National Forest; going kayaking; taking one of the many boat or air tours offered in the area; visiting historical exhibits; or chartering a fishing boat to test your skills against the teeming population of halibut and salmon.

Remember; this is only a glimpse at a couple of ports of call on two of the Sapphire Princess’s cruises. All the major cruise lines will have many different cruise packages and that will make multiple ports of call on each voyage. So be sure to research the cruise thoroughly before you make your final destination decision.

At http://www.cruiselinestips.com you can explore the options for your dream cruise, maybe one on Princess Cruise Lines. Get more tips from Jacqueline and others.

While in Sydney, you will definitely want to visit the Blue Mountains. Although Australia is generally though of as being primarily a hot desert scrubland, there is a great deal of scenic diversity not far from Sydney. The Blue Mountains consist of a sandstone plateau rising to over 3300 feet above sea level. Designated as a World Heritage Site, the Blue Mountains are home to spectacular rock formations and a wide variety of flora and fauna that are contained within seven national parks.

Adelaide

The region around Australia’s first city to be founded by free settlers is remarkably similar to California’s Napa Valley and the Bay Area. Nearby day trip destinations include winery tours, Mount Lofty with its commanding view of the Adelaide area, and the Cleland Wildlife Park, where you can actually pet a kangaroo or a koala bear.

Perth

If Adelaide is northern Califorina, this west coast Australian city is south Florida and the Caribbean. You will not want to miss out on Rottnest Island, which features  secluded white beaches and unique wildlife that exists nowhere else on the planet. Another spectacular feature is Wave Rock, a forty-five foot high granite cliff that is shaped remarkably like an ocean wave.

Melbourne

This scenic city in the Australian state of Victoria has more attractions than we can list here, but among those you won’t want to miss are:

•    Arthur’s Seat: A 915-foot high hill overlooking the harbor. Three mazes are to be found here in addition to excellent panoramas and examples of indigenous fauna.
•    Boneo Maze and Wetlands Centre: If eco-tourism interests you, this 15-acre site may be for you. In addition to over a mile of boardwalk paths through woodland and wetland areas, you will find a number of very nice picnic spots.

New Zealand

If you are going to study in New Zealand, you’ll find a number of exciting and novel day trip opportunities as well. If you saw the recent film trilogy Lord of the Rings, you are area of some of the spectacular Alpine scenery to be found in this country. In addition, Auckland and Christchurch are home to many scenic parks where one can see the native plant life as well as museums dedicated to various aspects of this country’s history and indigenous Maori culture.
