Why you should try to afford Wadigi Private Island in Fiji

What a Vacation Package, and a phenomenal place to go for a luxury vacation or a Fiji Honeymoon. Wadigi Island is an all inclusive five star private island resort hidden away in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands.

Just imagine a private island honeymoon with the whole island resort to yourself, or you can share it with a few friends or family, although there is a limit of six people who can be accommodated in this romantic getaway. If you are looking for exclusivity, total privacy, and the highest possible standards in the South Pacific then look no further than Wadigi.

What can you expect from Wadigi Island?

What you can expect is that it will exceed your highest expectations of a private South Pacific paradise island.
After all when you have a whole island, why on earth book just a hotel room. It is simply unique and unforgettable

This makes it totally right when you are considering a Fiji Honeymoon.

Wadigi is hidden away in the Mamanuca Islands, and just 10 minutes from Nadi International Airport by helicopter, and you won’t find anything like it anywhere else in the Fiji Islands, with the winning combination of pristine beaches, total privacy, luxury accommodation and gourmet dining.

Everything you want and desire can be enjoyed thanks to the excellent staff of seven who will pander to your every whim..

You will have two personal gourmet chefs, personal butler, maid and Boat Skipper for your entire stay. Kayaks, Windsurfers, Spyboards, Snorkeling gear, Wakeboarding, Waterskiing, and use of longboats are all part of the package on Wadigi Island.

Everything is very well coordinated by your hosts Jeni and Ross.

The accommodation on Wadigi consists of three beautifully furnished and airconditioned suites the Honeymoon Suite, the Sunrise Suite, and the Sunset Suite, plus a large living room with TV, stereo, DVD, Video and library of books, all perched on the edge of a cliff.

Everywhere you look there are magnificent South Pacific views, and total privacy. All the suites are connected by large decks which allow indoor and outdoor living, and have Veranda day beds. The new Honeymoon Suite also has an outdoor shower.

The Sunset Suite which you might be using for your Private Fiji island honeymoon has a large private veranda which is out over the water. The other outstanding feature is the stunning views from the bath!!

In terms of being a romantic getaway, there are few more romantic situation than the view of the ocean, the sounds of the waves, and sunsets you can hardly imagine, as you relax in the infinity pool or sunbathe on one of your two private beaches. Add to this the crystal clear lagoon of Wadigi where there is top class snorkeling

Apart from not needing your mobile phone, your watch or your PC [although there is internet access for work addicts], you can also forget about the diet you have been on, because the food served up by the gourmet chefs befits only the very best of a Luxury Honeymoon Vacation Package on a Private Island.

Their menu is totally personalized to your choice, with superb tropical seafood, and desserts to increase your waistline.

Then there are the very best wines from the cellar including the very best wines from Australia, New Zealand, and France.

You can choose to eat literally where you want on the island, and when you want. This could mean the Dining Room inside and outside deck, the Bure Kalau, the Pool Deck, the Villa deck, and finally a torch lit dinner on the beach.

Wadigi Island will be possibly the finest Vacation you will ever spend, the very best of Fiji Honeymoon Packages.

Mystical Island Beat Changes Europe’s Conception of Water Music

By: Wendy Stenberg-Tendys

About the Author

Rick and Wendy are CEO’s of YouMe Support Foundation charity that gives away non repayable high school education grants to children who will never have the opportunity to have a high school education without outside assistance.

This is once in a life time Blue Moon Opportunity for someone to own their own private holiday home, plus 6 luxury holiday units, while assisting these children to gain an education.

(ArticlesBase SC #455113)

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/Mystical Island Beat Changes Europe’s Conception of Water Music

In 1771, 50 musicians performed the first recital of Handel’s Water Music suite, on a barge stationed on the River Thames. Handel has written the music to regain the favours of King George I.

More than 230 years later, a new Water Music is enthralling Europe.

Twelve ladies from the remote, northern tropical islands of Vanuatu, wade into the sea up to their waist. Dressed in the traditional custom gear of Gaua, including arm bands and headwear made from flowers and leaves, these women are about to perform the mystical Water Music.

The women sidle into a half moon formation. Their bodies lean forward over the water waiting for the signal. The leader’s head dips in a nod. Hands are united in action. The water is beaten into a rhythmic swirl. The palm of their hands slaps each passing wave. Their hands move closer to their bodies and then away again

The percussion sound of unique Water Music fills the air. The glee of the women’s shouts punctuates the music occasionally. To sit, eyes closed and absorb the sound, it is easy to imagine yourself in a modern day concert hall. But you are sitting on one of the mystical tropical islands in the northern part of Vanuatu, in the South Pacific. You have just climbed down a narrow well worn path, through a pristine bush wilderness. Few tourists, except the occasional yachty, experience the joys of being welcomed by these friendly warm people of Gaua.

Each performance lasts for several minutes. The performers are soaked from head to toe. The crowd sits momentarily stunned before breaking into applause.

Once more Water Music is beating in Europe, but it’s not Handel’s. Europe has welcomed the women of Gaua on their first international tour. European resorts have provided chlorinated swimming pools as performance spaces, replacing the wide, warm open oceans of the Pacific. The traditional setting has been lost. The music is less explicit. Sea water and chlorinated water give different tones. Wave patterns are distorted with simulated waves. The man-made environment echoes to a different beat. For a real experience, you need to see it in Gaua. If you are looking for a true adventure travel experience, you can arrange a visit to these people through vanuatu-hotels.vu. These islolated islands of Vanuatu, in the South Pacific, will fill you with a life-time of unforgettable memories.

Gaua traditions have given these women a unique place in this modern world. But they are fully aware that the next generation needs an education, it they are to interact successfully with the 21st century. The women have no way of raising the necessary money for school fees. Their children are condemned to never fulfil their dreams of becoming a teacher, doctor, carpenter or nurse. They have no way of seeing the inside of a high-school classroom without outside assistance.

Vanuatu does not have a free education system. Limited resources are provided by the government, but everyone must pay school fees. Living in a ‘no-cash-economy’ most of the villagers find it impossible to pay the school fees.

The devastating result is:

only 55.8% of Vanuatu kids will get to grade 6;

of those only 18.2% will go to high school ;

Ask me which Pacific island has the most to offer hikers and I’ll probably answer Easter Island. Here on an island 11 km wide and 23 km long you’ll find nearly a thousand ancient Polynesian statues strewn along a powerfully beautiful coastline or littering the slopes of an extinct volcano.

The legends of Easter Island have been recounted many times. What’s less known is that the island’s assorted wonders are easily accessible on foot from the comfort of the only settlement, Hanga Roa. Before setting out see the sights, however, visit the excellent archaeological museum next to Ahu Tahai on the north side of town (the term “ahu” refers to an ancient stone platform). Aside from the exhibits, the museum has maps which can help you plan your trip. An online map is available at http://www.mapsouthpacific.com/easter_island/

The first morning after arrival, I suggest you climb Easter Island’s most spectacular volcano, Rano Kau, where Orongo, a major archaeological site, sits on the crater’s rim. But rather than marching straight up the main road to the crater, look for the unmarked shortcut trail off a driveway to the right just past the forestry station south of town. It takes under two hours to cover the six km from Hanga Roa to Orongo, but bring along a picnic lunch and make a day of it. (If climbing a 316-meter hill sounds daunting, you can take a taxi to the summit for around US and easily walk back later in the day.) Once on top, you’ll find hiking down into the colourful crater presents no difficulty. It may also look easy to go right around the crater rim, but only do so if you’re a very experienced hiker and have a companion along as shear 250-meter cliffs drop into the sea from the ridge.

Another day, rise early and take a taxi to lovely Anakena Beach at the end of the paved road on the north side of the island (you should pay under US for the 20 km). A few of the famous Easter Island statues have been restored at Anakena and you could go for a swim, although the main reason you’ve come is the chance to trek back to Hanga Roa around the road-free northwest corner of the island. You’ll pass numerous abandoned statues lying facedown where they fell, and the only living creatures you’re unlikely to encounter are the small brown hawks which will watch you intently from perches on nearby rocks. If you keep moving, you’ll arrive back in town in five or six hours (but take adequate food, water, and sunscreen). This is probably the finest coastal walk in the South Pacific.

Almost as good is the hike along the south coast, although you’re bound to run into other tourists here as a paved highway follows the shore. Begin early and catch a taxi to Rano Raraku, the stone quarry where all of the island’s statues were born. This is easily the island’s most spectacular sight with 397 statues in various stages of completion lying scattered around the crater. And each day large tour groups come to Rano Raraku to sightsee and have lunch. However, if you arrive before 9 am, you’ll have the site to yourself for a few hours. When you see the first tour buses headed your way, hike down to Ahu Tongariki on the coast, where 15 massive statues were reerected in 1994. From here, just start walking back toward Hanga Roa (20 km) along the south coast. You’ll pass many fallen statues and enjoy some superb scenery. Whenever you get tired, simply go up onto the highway and stick out your thumb and you’ll be back in town in a jiffy.

An outstanding 13-km walk begins at the museum and follows the west coast five km north to Ahu Tepeu. As elsewhere, keep your eyes pealed for banana trees growing out of the barren rocks as these often indicate caves you can explore. Inland from Ahu Tepeu is one of the island’s most photographed sites, Ahu Akivi, with seven statues restored in 1960. From here an interior farm road runs straight back to town (study the maps at the museum carefully, as you’ll go far out of your way if you choose the wrong road here).

A shorter hike takes you up Puna Pau, a smaller crater which provided stone for the red topknots that originally crowned the island’s statues. There’s a great view of Hanga Roa from the three crosses on an adjacent hill and you can easily do it all in half a day. A different walk takes you right around the 3,353-meter airport runway, which crosses the island just south of town. Near the east end of the runway is Ahu Vinapu with perfectly fitted monolithic stonework bearing an uncanny resemblance to similar constructions in Peru.

Easter Island’s moderate climate and scant vegetation make for easy cross country hiking, and you won’t find yourself blocked by fences and private property signs very often. You could also tour the island by mountain bike, available from several locations at US a day. If you surf or scuba dive, there are many opportunities here. A minimum of five days are needed to see the main sights of Easter Island, and two weeks would be far better. The variety of things to see and do will surprise you, and you’ll be blessed with some unforgettable memories.

What Other Secrets Remain Hidden in the Tropical Island Jewel, Vanuatu?

Vanuatu with its 83 pristine tropical islands is the birth place of Extreme Sport. The Pentecost land dive was born in the mists of time in Vanuatu.

Vanuatu was also the inspiration for the book by James A Michener, which in turn inspired the classic musical Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 1958 film South Pacific. The Television version of the original classic, in 2001, never really found favor with the viewing public.

In 2006, the tiny archipelago South Pacific nation of Vanuatu, made famous by A Michener’s ‘Tales of the South Pacific’, was voted the Happiest Country on Earth by the British New Economics Foundation’s (NEF), Happy Planet Index according to Adrienne Wilson, writing for Gadling.com.

Recently the grave of the last Paramount Chief of Vanuatu, Chief Roi Mata, was granted the status of a world heritage site. It is said more than 20 wives and some of his men were buried live with the king. In the outer islands men drink a local calming drink, kava, which the women were not permitted. It’s believed that the men drank Kava before being buried alive with their king.

Vanuatu is also setting the world on edge, with its recent release of unique and traditionally well hidden art. Recent exhibitions from the northern island of Ambrym have received critical acclaim with reviewers saying the figurines could easily be mistaken for contemporary works of art. Collectors and critics are in a spin over the carvings, never before seen outside Vanuatu.

There is nothing like it in the museums of Europe and America. Only one similar piece has been found in a museum in Britain.

A towering four or five headed slit wooden gong from Ambrym, is one of the largest free standing musical instruments in the world. They are so commonly used as decoration in Vanuatu; they are rarely noticed by visitors.

Most people admiring the gongs, sometimes up to four meters high have no understanding of the connection to the secrets of Vanuatu society.

The stylized form of the wooden gong symbolizes the people’s ancestors. The eyes representing the morning star of a society which has traditionally kept its secrets well hidden from the rest of the world.

The gongs were a vital part of sacred ceremonies, such as funerals, initiations and dances. Carefully coordinated actions by multiple drummers, beat the lip of the gongs with a small wooden club. The informal village orchestras performed rhythmical ensembles of immense variety and complexity.

The gongs were also used as a form of bush telegraph to communicate between neighbouring villages. The use of a unique gong language allowed the villagers to send complex messages over long distances and sometimes if the atmospherics were right, messages could be sent to neighbouring islands.

Many tourists to these tropical islands carry home hand carved smaller samples of the large musical instrument as a memento although most are totally unaware of their deep cultural significance.

By releasing some of their secret and sacred artifacts to the world, the Chiefs of Vanuatu hope to bring about a renewed awareness of their ancient culture. They are aware that education of the younger generation is the only way to preserve their ancient ways. Very few young people have any knowledge of the art of the intricate language of the gong.

Hopefully the sharing of their secrets will bring about the desperately needed change in the education of the next generation of this tiny South Pacific archipelago.

Although Vanuatu has a deep and rich cultural heritage, there is a desperate need for formal education, if the younger generation is to take its rightful place in the 21st century.

As a lesser developed country where there is no free education, the government freely admits it is unable to meet the educational needs of the country.

• 26% of the children will never go to school.

• 18% will never go to high school.

• Only 56% will go over year 6

Although it is called the Happiest Country on Earth, many villagers still struggle to survive on under a day. Paying school fees is totally out of the question and many of the high achieving students will be condemned to finish study at the end of primary school. Many gifted and highly intelligent students will never have the chance to see the inside of a high school classroom.

It was once quoted: ‘If you refuse to build schools you will have to build jails.’ What a strange tragedy if the Happiest Country on Earth went this way.

There is a way to offer a helping hand to these tremendous people and show people really care. Take a few minutes to look at this unique world first Blue Moon Opportunity. This is something you cannot afford to miss. It will change your life.

Rick and Wendy are CEO’s of YouMe Support Foundation charity that gives away non repayable high school education grants to children who will never have the opportunity to have a high school education without outside assistance. check it out for your blue moon opportunity

Polynesian Island Activities

Tropical islands are steeped in culture and the natives are too eager to share their culture with the tourists. One of the most interesting island cultures in the world is the Polynesian culture. This culture spans the pacific islands from Tahiti to Hawaii and everything in between.  Each island has its own unique version of that culture but all of the islands share common beliefs and practices.

Tourists can enjoy varied activities, foods and delicacies. It is indeed interesting to watch each village demonstrate crafts and skills such as creating clothing from bark, stories through dance, baskets with leaves, and fire by rubbing sticks. During feature presentations you’ll hear fascinating descriptions of culinary types, transoceanic travel, and the preservation of traditions and history without a written language. Kids will love getting ink tattoos, spear throwing, ukulele lessons and fishing, and everyone loves watching fire walkers and native dances. Here are some of the better things to do:

Local Food- Hawaiian cuisine has mouth watering dishes that are cooked in open air with coal. Pork cooked in the underground imu oven, to a generous salad bar, chicken long rice, fresh fish, sweet potatoes, native fresh fruits, taro rolls, and traditional desserts.  The food is really delicious and very healthy for you too.

Night Dance Show – The Polynesian performers share their history, art and culture with you in this famous song and dance show “Horizons,” the largest Polynesian revue of song and dance in the world. This features over 100 native performers from all corners of the Pacific. Dressed in native clothes, they share their spirit with the tourists.  Also you are treated to rare cultural shows that are part of tropical island traditions. Moreover, you can watch the fire dancers doing their traditional fire stick shows.

At Oahu’s Polynesian Cultural Center you can spend the evening immersed in the cultural traditions and lifestyles of the seven individual South Pacific cultures and experience the largest Polynesian song and dance review in the world!

Hawaii’s Polynesian Cultural Center, located an hour’s scenic drive from Waikiki, is one of the top Oahu attractions. The seven native villages give you the rare chance to participate in the daily adventures of Hawaiian and other South Pacific cultures. If you don’t watch the world’s largest Polynesian night show, your trip to Hawaii is incomplete. Polynesian Cultural Center is a must see in Hawaii.

Mounu Island Vavau Tonga

A Romantic Honeymoon Package like no other could be Mounu Island Vavau Tonga. A South Pacific Honeymoon is very special, and Mounu is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Tonga. It is small, only a 6.5 acre coral atoll, surrounded by shimmering white sand that your feet sink into and turquoise sea that is so clear you can see the fish, and a climate that means warm balmy nights almost all year round. Your romantic honeymoon package can help the environment as well because Mounu has been set up as an Eco Resort.

Mounu Island Resort consists of four fales, which are scattered around the atoll, each with its own private beach, and there is a Honeymoon suite, all with great verandas, and very comfortably furnished. Don’t worry about the composting toilets, they work extremely well, in fact better than some toilets on mainland deluxe hotels!!

Try to go in high season, between July and September, because of the absolute delight of whale watching, even swimming with the humpback whales, even just off the beach before breakfast!! What kind of romantic honeymoon package would that make!!

The meals are a delight, well cooked, well presented, and more than enough to eat, using local fresh fruits, home made breads, and of course wonderfully fresh fish, not forgetting the baked coconut. Their crayfish pasta dish is worth the trip alone. The freshest Tuna, Marlin, Wahoo, Coral Trout, Snapper and Lobster all feature on the menu.

Breakfasts are superb, and often made to order, either full English or crepes.

There is plenty to do on Mounu Island on your South Pacific Island vacation, what with swimming, fishing, snorkelling, whale watching, or just reading one of the library books and relaxing to the sound of the sea, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. It is worth giving a special mention to the snorkelling, which is absolutely superb only a few feet from the beach. It is like being in a gigantic tropical fish tank, with colours the like of which you are unlikely to see again.

This isn’t the place for the party animal who needs all the 5 star comforts and service, but it makes a perfect romantic honeymoon package, with the beach, the sea, no noise, no crowds. Having said that the owners are well worth taking the time to get to know and chat to, because it will make your evenings a lot of fun, just listening to them, and their tales of Tongan life.

All in all, Mounu Island has everything for the perfect romantic honeymoon package, a South Pacific Island Vacation with a difference, and just as ideal for the stressed out executive. Go for it.

Fiji Island Holiday the Beauty of the South Pacific

Fiji Island Holiday conjures up all sorts of images in the mind, imagine sitting by the pool with the warm sun beating down on you while enjoying a fresh island cocktail that’s just been served to you. Well that is what a Fiji Island Holiday has to offer and plenty more.

Fiji Island Resorts range in price and capacity while new ones are being developed all the time to give you a taste of Fiji Real Estate. There are a number of great new back packer facilities ranging from all the inclusive meal and bed packages or others that have their own amenities and cooking facilities.

There is plenty to do if you don’t want to spend your time lounging around the pool. Fiji has wonderful diving or if you are not interested in Fiji Scuba Diving or going under with a tank on your back, there are plenty of terrific snorkelling in Fiji. You can discover the magical world under the sea, the beautiful coral reefs, and the brightly coloured tropical fish swimming around you. If you want to get up close and personal, you could try to feed the fish while snorkelling the fish seem to come from miles and surround you in an amazing oasis of Fiji colours.

You could stay on one of the many exotic beautiful Fiji Island Resorts or you could take a day trip to one and make the most of an Island Hopping boat trip. This is a great way to see different resorts and islands, maybe even finding a new place to stay on your next trip.

Fiji is also very popular with the yachting fraternity, it is a great spot to stop and spend some time exploring the Islands between New Zealand and Australia. The yachties are great fun and sure know how to party and have a fun time. One of the most popular Yachting destinations in Fiji is Musket Cove marina.

Many of the resorts also have other water sports available, windsurfing, hobby cat and water skiing to name a few. There are also a number of Fiji Island Resorts that focus around children, providing a kids club, so mum and dad can have a true break – drop the kids off in the morning and collect them again in the late afternoon to hear all about their days adventures, what they have made and learn about all there new friends. A very popular thing children love to do is to get their hair braided and you always see kids at the airport on the way home with their hair with colourful beads and braids.

Another popular activity is surfing. Fiji is well known for a couple of surf breaks and even has specific surfing resorts which host the international events which has drawn huge public attention.

You could also jump in a local cab and explore the mainland and townships. A must do is taking a trip to the local veg markets, such a great sight with all the veg stacked in neat piles selling for a dollar or two.

Maybe you have gone on Fiji Island Holiday to totally relax and wined down and catch up on some reading. If this is the case I am sure you will find yourself at a Fiji resort and Spa receiving a sensational Fiji Massage.

Some people find a cruise is more their thing and Fiji has a couple of companies that provide excellent services with small boats holding less people but giving you fantastic service that is more personal. You have the best of both worlds, getting to see plenty of Islands, snorkelling locations and relaxing at the same time, a great idea for your honeymoon. Plenty of people choose Fiji to tie the knot, having a barefoot beach side wedding.

The Fijian people are very talented musically and are a nation that loves to sing and play the guitar. The resorts often have a Meke which is a combination of music, singing and a Fijian tribal dance another must do during your stay.

Fiji is only a short flight from both Australia and New Zealand with regular flights available. You can also fly from the USA and other destinations and makes for a fantastic truly relaxing holiday. The people are magical with beautiful friendly smiles and always make you feel welcome with a cheerful ‘Bula’ on your arrival.

Fiji is a wonderful holiday destination so why not when you are planning your next trip include Fiji on the list as a must do vacation for a Fiji Island Holiday.

Discover the true beauty of a fiji island holiday and enjoy the soothing qualities only a fiji island resort can offer!

Scientology Volunteer Ministers South Pacific Goodwill Tour Welcomed to the Island of Vava’u

Traditional ceremony and ritual opened the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour on the Island of Vava’u in the kingdom of Tonga.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers South Pacific Goodwill Tour is continuing its work in the Kingdom of Tonga, with a grand opening on the island of Vava’u.  Tonga is an archipelago of 169 islands one-third of the way between New Zealand and Hawaii.

Local performers welcomed the Scientology Volunteer Ministers with a prayer and songs and the chief magistrate of the island, on behalf of the people of Vava’u, thanked the Scientology Volunteer Ministers for coming to their island.

A dancer performed the ‘Tulou kihe niu vakai’—a traditional greeting for honored guests and friends—before cutting the ribbon in front of the big yellow tent where the volunteers will provide courses, seminars and one-on-one help.

Having opened the tent in the capital city of Vava’u, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers are offering their services on a grassroots level by visiting the local villages.  The first place they went to was Talihau, a fitting first stop as its name means “to welcome the Chief,” coming from the days when any boat arriving from other islands would land and be welcomed by this village first.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers began their visit to Tonga on the island of Tongatapu, where they found that drug and alcohol abuse were a major concern of the local officials and community leaders.  They provided drug-education lectures, using information in the Scientology Handbook which is based on the research of Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard.

Tonga is the third South Pacific nation of this goodwill tour, which began in Fiji and moved next to Samoa. On completing their work in Tonga, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers will move on to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Linda Wieland writes for the Scientology Press Office in Los Angeles, CA.
